Time in a collapsing world Chapter 1205 [Memory]

Play Speak

Three days later, somewhere on a hidden coastline in Northern Europe.

Amethyst's private aircraft landed on the hidden helipad of Anti-Entropy, and the sea breeze carried fine snowflakes against the cabin door. Einstein had been waiting for a long time, and her iconic blue curly hair did not move in the cold wind.

"Welcome." Einstein said to him expressionlessly, "Dr. Tesla is waiting for you in the laboratory."

Following Einstein through the layers of security, Zijing noticed that the base's alert level was much higher than usual. The automatic defense cannons on both sides of the corridor were all activated, and even the ventilation vents were flashing with the faint light of energy barriers.

"You... have also been attacked?" Amethyst asked sharply.

Einstein's footsteps paused slightly. "Yes, it was yesterday. But..." She hesitated for a moment. "The intruder's appearance is different from the masked men I encountered before."

The heavy metal door of the laboratory slid open, and Tesla was pacing anxiously in front of a complex holographic model. Seeing Amethyst, she immediately strode over: "You are finally here! Look at this!"

Amethyst stared at the model of the device suspended in the air—it was an exquisite ring-shaped structure with a purple crystal matrix embedded inside.

"As you requested, we will temporarily call it the 'phase anchor point'," Einstein explained, "but to be honest, we still don't understand its specific purpose."

Amethyst gently touched the holographic projection, and the model immediately broke down into hundreds of components: "It can balance energy fluctuations of a specific frequency, especially..."

He suddenly stopped and turned to look at the surveillance screen in the corner of the laboratory. The screen showed a few blurry footprints appearing out of thin air on the snow outside the base, and then quickly covered by the wind and snow.

"What's wrong?" Tesla asked puzzledly.

Zijing retracted her gaze: "Nothing. The key to this device lies in the resonant frequency of the core, which needs to be adjusted to 7.83 Hz - consistent with the Schumann resonance of the earth itself."

Tesla raised an eyebrow in surprise: "What do you want to do with it? Global energy coordination?"

"Almost." Zijing took out a small data terminal from her arms, "This is the latest parameter setting. In addition..."

"This device needs to be deployed on a large scale." Zijing handed the data terminal to Tesla, "We plan to build thousands of such nodes around the world, evenly distributed across the earth."

Einstein raised his eyebrows. "Thousands? This would require the use of all the resources of Anti-Entropy."

"Don't worry about the resources." Zijing said, "I have already made an agreement with Otto in advance. He will assist you."

"Wow... the resources of my mortal enemy? Then I will use them without any hesitation." Tesla smiled maliciously.

Einstein looked through the data on the terminal. "Such a dense arrangement of nodes is not so much about energy coordination..." She paused, "but rather about building some kind of global energy barrier?"

Zijing smiled noncommittally: "Once the first prototype is tested, you will naturally understand its true purpose."

At this moment, the temperature in the laboratory suddenly dropped, and the exhaled white air condensed in the air. The snowflake footprints on the monitoring screen suddenly reappeared on the floor of the room, approaching the three people step by step.

"It seems that our guest can't wait any longer." Zijing was a little puzzled. "Did he follow me? I can't see his figure. Is he invisible through technology, or does this new creature have the invisibility effect itself?"

"Why are you still so leisurely? I'm freezing to death! You jerk, is the security system of our base just for show? How could such a strange thing break in so easily?" Tesla was shivering while hugging his arms.

"Dr. Tesla, I remember that you participated in the design of the latest warning system of our base." Einstein said lightly, grabbing the only coat that was originally draped over the back of the chair. This was originally Tesla's.

"Damn aliens!" Tesla gnashed his teeth and stamped his feet, quickly entering a series of commands on the console. "Whether you are invisible or something, try this!"

The ceiling of the laboratory suddenly opened, and dozens of micro drones swarmed out, spraying fluorescent nanoparticles. These particles formed a huge net in the air, covering the entire laboratory.

"Developer," Tesla raised his chin proudly, "Specially used to deal with guys like you who like to play hide-and-seek!"

"It's just fluorescent material, right?" Einstein complained, and turned off the lights.

As darkness fell, the next moment, a distorted figure gradually emerged in the fluorescent light—it was a humanoid creature covered with translucent scales, with abnormally long limbs, a head without facial features, and only a smooth silver mirror surface.

"Interesting," Einstein observed calmly, "Its body is constantly refracting light. This is a natural cloaking mechanism."

Amethyst was also observing, and took a step forward, standing in front of Einstein and Tesla.

The mirror creature suddenly trembled violently, emitting a high-frequency humming sound. The glass in the laboratory began to crack, and sparks burst out from the instrument screens.

"It's releasing infrasound!" Tesla shouted, covering his ears.

In the chaos, Zijing calmly raised her hand and gently pressed on the prototype of the "Phase Anchor Point". A soft purple light wave spread out, instantly neutralizing all abnormal sound waves.

"It seems that you are not with those guys before." Zijing's eyes turned black and white, "But since you are here, why not stay as a guest?"

The mirror creature suddenly turned around and rushed towards the wall, but was bounced back the moment it made contact—the entire laboratory had already been surrounded by the energy field secretly set up by Amethyst.

"It's useless," Amethyst walked closer slowly, "This room is now a perfect cage."

The mirror creature stopped struggling, and the smooth silver mirror surface suddenly rippled. Amethyst keenly noticed something unusual and immediately raised his hand to signal the two doctors to retreat.

"This is not a living thing..." Zijing used her power to analyze the other party's composition, "This is the embodiment of memory."

As if to confirm his words, a blurry image began to emerge on the mirror—it was a scene wrapped in countless transparent ice crystals. Countless human figures were frozen in the ice crystals, maintaining the posture they were in at the last moment.

Before the others could take a closer look, Zijing felt as if a pair of hands were reaching out from inside.

Without saying anything more, Amethyst used her power to destroy the [memory] in front of her, preventing the invasion of some kind of power.

Touching his neck, Zijing found that his neck was broken. The opponent's attack had already killed him once.
