As the host announced the final vote count, the whole audience was in an uproar.

After that, Mingyue was thinking about how to make this FBI agent break up with Mingmei, but the next second she smelled a hint of blood in this closed cabin.

"Do you smell it?" Mingyue looked at Lei.

"Hmm?" Lei sniffed around but smelled nothing.

"There is a smell of blood." Mingyue turned her head and looked in the direction where the smell of blood was stronger.

"Did you take medicine?" Lei thought of the medicine that could expand perception, and a cold light flashed in his dark green eyes.

Mingyue glared at Lei and muttered, "Now is not the time to argue about this. Follow me first." After that, Mingyue ran towards the place where the smell of blood became stronger, and Lei followed closely behind.

After turning a few corners, Mingyue and Lei came to a storage room with a closed door.

The faint smell of blood entered Lei's nostrils, causing him to frown slightly. Seeing Mingyue about to turn the doorknob, he immediately grabbed Mingyue's hand, pulled her behind him, and said coldly, "Don't move, kid."

"I'm not a child!" Mingyue put her hands on her hips, and then saw Lei carefully check the door frame, put his ear to the door panel to listen, and then carefully grasped the door handle.

The lock made a slight click and the door slowly opened.

Lei looked inside through the crack in the door. The utility room was dark, and his vision was limited, so he couldn't accurately judge the situation inside.

"There's nothing in there."

Hearing the sound, Lei looked down and saw Mingyue peeking through the crack of the door. "Didn't I tell you to hide behind me?"

"I've also told you I'm not someone you should protect." Mingyue glanced at Lei and pushed the door, but it didn't budge. She glanced at the doorknob Lei was holding and muttered in dissatisfaction, "Open it! There's no mechanism."

"Get behind me." Lei's tone was still cold.

Mingyue crossed her arms in dissatisfaction and looked at Lei. The melodious whistle in her ears had been replaced by rhythmic music.

After a few seconds, Mingyue could only resign herself to walking behind Lei and watching him open the door. The light from the corridor shone into the utility room, revealing the scene inside to the two of them - in the windowless utility room, bedding was scattered on the ground in a mess, like the white snow on the top of a mountain. No one knew what kind of information was hidden under these white bedding.

"Don't come in yet." Lei looked at Mingyue behind him with a serious expression, because he also smelled the smell of blood.

"Okay." Mingyue responded nonchalantly with her arms folded across her chest, then turned to look at the door leading to the outdoor deck not far away. However, the door was closed, otherwise she would have been able to feel the cool breeze blowing from the winter sea.

Lei Yi had just stepped into the utility room when he sensed something was amiss. He suddenly turned to look at Mingyue and warned her in a cold voice, "Wait for me at the door. Don't go too far."

"Since you're so afraid of me leaving, why not let me go in with you to investigate?" Mingyue met Lei's dark green wolf eyes, her lips curled slightly, and she said softly, "Blindly defending is not a good strategy, and I don't like hiding behind others and acting like a turtle."

Standing at the door of the utility room, Lei's eyes swept across every corner of the room. He then exhaled and said in a calm, emotionless voice, "Come in. If there's any danger, go find Scotland first."

"Okay." Mingyue agreed and followed Lei into the utility room.

The utility room was not big, and the ventilation fan above made a slight humming sound. Because of this, the smell of blood in the room was not strong.

Lei squatted down and carefully lifted the stacked quilts, but the quilts were piled up one on top of the other, like the skin of an onion, as if it seemed endless.

Mingyue checked the traces on the ground at the door, but it was as if someone had deliberately cleaned it, and there was not a trace left at all. But where did this bloody smell come from?

As the quilts were lifted layer by layer, the floor of the utility room was exposed in front of the two people. There was no corpse, not even any bloodstains. Everything was too weird.

At this moment, "Oh who— killed Cock Robin?" The clear child's voice echoed in the narrow utility room along with the sound of the piano.

"If you killed someone, would you hide the body under the bedding and wait for someone to find it, or would you just throw it into the sea?" Mingyue looked at Lei, who was squatting on the ground with a thoughtful look on his face.

Lei slowly stood up and said, "Let's go to the outdoor deck."

Mingyue curled the corners of her lips slightly, turned and walked out of the utility room, heading towards the door leading to the outdoor deck.

As the door opened, a damp, salty sea breeze rushed in through the crack, sweeping over my body with a chill. The sun was high in the sky, just slightly to the west. Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the clouds onto the sea, casting a silvery glow on the rolling waves.

Mingyue grabbed the railing and looked down, but could only see the dark blue sea with surging white waves.

"Be careful, don't fall." Lei glanced at Mingyue, then continued to check the marks on the guardrail.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine even if the tower explodes. Even if I fall into the sea now, I won't die. If you're worried, I'll go over there and take a look." Mingyue reached out to the side of the cabin where there were several damaged chairs.

Lei turned around and saw that there was no one else on the deck, so he nodded in agreement.

Mingyue walked over to the chairs, seemingly inspecting them carefully, but occasionally keeping an eye on Lei. Then she slowly squatted down and stuffed the bright red candy into a hidden place. After making sure it wouldn't be discovered or blown away by the wind, she stood up and walked over to Lei. "Those chairs are ordinary chairs. There are no mechanisms inside them."

"It's windy outside, let's go back to the cabin first."

Mingyue walked towards the cabin obediently, but Lei behind her frowned slightly. He turned to look at the damaged chairs, but could not find any clues in the pile of rotten wood.

However, just after Lei entered the cabin, a stealthy black bird walked to where Mingyue was squatting before, picked up the candy, and flapped its wings to soar into the sky.
